Brian L. Polzin Email: brian.polzin@steamingstone.com Professionally Insured ABMP Nationally Certified NCTMB- About Me:
My name is Brian Lee Polzin. I was born in 1968 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. I attended public school here for Elementary, Junior High and High School. I graduated High School in 1986 with a scholarship to pursue communications, specifically - radio. I attended University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point and graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. - During college I studied radio, TV, and film production and was very involved with the campus radio station (proud to boast one of the biggest college stations in the mid-west). The only reason I didn't finish with a degree in Communications was a personal disinterest for the remaining 2 classes I needed to complete that major. I decided to pursue the classes that fascinated me the most - that being Psychology. After graduation, I was unsure if I really wanted to continue on with a Master's or Doctorate program and decided to take a year away from school.
- [side note... Over the years of growing up and throughout college I was blessed to have visited 37 different states. While there are great things to see and do, I always felt Wisconsin (and specifically Stevens Point) was a great place to live. That's the reason I'm still here when old classmates ask that question. This area is close to Chicago, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay if I want city life and it's also only an hour or more if I need to get lost in the great North Woods. Plus the University really adds to the draw of 'culture' to this area that one normally would never find in a town of only 25,000.]
- That next summer after college I somehow decided to take a mini-course on massage offered by some Nurses up in Wausau. I instantly found my 'calling'. Not only did it interest me intellectually with the anatomy & physiology studies of the body, but also was satisfying to use my hands and to help people on their healing journeys. I had always been good with using my hands (working for 9 years in darkrooms at a photofinishing plant to help pay for college and massage school costs).
- I received my Massage Certification from The Balanced Touch Institute for Massage and Bodywork in 1995 and acquired the State of WI Certification when regulation began in 1999 - #704-046. I worked for a local day spa for over 7 years after that. I became dedicated to educating the public and professionals in this field. The study of all things related to massage is still my passion and favorite pastime. I became Nationally Certified (even though I was not required to do so for my Wisconsin License) in 2005 as a stepping stone for my professional progress.
- I am now on this adventure of offering quality services of my design in a relaxing and stress-reducing environment. My new business is for providing Massage, Steam, and Stone Therapies with healing intentions. I also continue to offer training and education opportunities for other Massage Therapists.
