Thai Massage

Thai massage can be best described as assisted yoga or assisted stretching. It has originated in Thailand and is also known as Nuad Bo Rarn, translating to “ancient massage”. Palm and thumb presses along sen lines (energy lines) are incorporated with the assisted stretching and passive mobilization of the body. Thai massage becomes a graceful dance between the practitioner and client. This bodywork promotes qi movement (“chi” is life energy) throughout the whole body, increases flexibility, promotes blood and lymph circulation, creates openness throughout the body by stretching, and reduces tightness in muscle tissue that may be a cause of pain. Thai massage is also a wonderful way to harmonize the mind, body, and spirit. Clients feel this work to be a deep form of bodywork without being invasive to sensitive muscle tissue. This treatment is performed on floor mats, and the client would want to wear comfortable clothing for the session. Clean hands and feet are expected from both client and practitioner when coming to the mat.     60, 90 or 120 minutes

Thai Herbal Compress Massage

Thai herbal compresses are filled with healing herbs from around the world and warmed to release the healing powers of the herbs. Each herb is carefully selected to be part of the compress based on its specific characteristics. The compress is pressed onto the body or placed on problem areas to allow the body to absorb the herbs’ nutrients. The compresses are a wonderful addition to any form massage or bodywork treatment, but are traditionally used with Thai massage. The compresses are a wonderful treatment for anyone with chronic muscle pain, arthritis, digestive problems, achy joints, or for anyone who seeks deep relaxation.     30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes

Hawaiian Lomi-Lomi

Ancient healing that encompasses body, mind, and spirit and enables the physical and energetic systems of the body to flush out, transform, and revitalize.  Longer sessions include stretching       30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes

Sensory Repatterning

Sensory Repatterning is a kinesthetic form of bodywork that includes passive joint mobilization, body rocking, and assisted stretching. As humans, we have a tendency to sit, walk, and move in a way that torques our body and patterns our muscles in a way that is not beneficial to us. Sensory Repatterning invites the body and muscle tissues to remember their natural placement and movement. This form of bodywork uses the skeleton to massage the joints and muscle tissue from the inside of the body and promotes joint lubrication. As a client, you would want to wear comfortable clothing for Sensory Repatterning as the body is passively moved and assisted stretching is included.     30 or 60 minutes

Ashiatsu Bar Therapy

Two parallel bars attached to the ceiling are used for balance and support, while gliding and compression techniques are applied with clean, soft feet. This type of massage is recommended for those who enjoy deep pressure (although even feather-light pressure can be used for those who don't like deep work). Ashiatsu Bar Therapy allows the practitioner to apply deep, even pressure using body weight, without the pain normally associated with a deep tissue massage     60 or 90 min

Massage

... is perhaps the oldest and simplest of all medical treatments.  For thousands of years some form of massage or laying on of hands has been used to heal and soothe the sick.  To the ancient Greek and Roman physicians, massage was one of the principal means of healing and relieving pain.

In traditional cultures, especially in the East, it is accepted as natural that people of all ages can benefit from regular massage.  But here in the West, though its value has always been recognized in the world of sport, its use has only recently spread to other fields.  Massage can relieve tension, soothe away headaches and relax taut and aching muscles.  This helps our bodies cope with everyday stress.
